What Is Universal Orlando Resort?

What is Universal Orlando Resort? If you’ve landed on this page, it seems like an obvious question. But let’s start here, cuz not everyone is familiar with Universal.

First of all, Universal is not Disney. Two separate companies, totally different theme parks (check out this post if you wanna know how they differ).

In a nutshell, it’s a theme park (a really awesome one, IMO). “Universal Orlando Resort” is the entire property comprised of:

two theme parks– Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios

a waterpark– Volcano Bay

several hotels– Dockside, Surfside, Cabana Bay, Aventura, Sapphire Falls, Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, and Portofino Bay

and Citywalk– a shopping, dining, and entertainment center just outside the parks

The theme parks were designed as a way for guests to “ride the movies” and are based on intellectual properties owned by Universal Pictures. Both parks offer thrill rides, coasters, 3d simulators, shows, characters, and “streetmosphere.” They are highly immersive, especially the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, with themed rides and queues.

Universal Orlando Resort is a unique experience. We never get tired of it!
